The Zirk Swim Cup is set to welcome one of Slovenia’s brightest swimming star, Neža Klančar, who will be among the headline athletes competing at this year’s event. Known for her speed, determination, and experience on the international stage, Klančar arrives in Estonia with renewed energy and motivation as she continues her strong comeback to racing.
After a longer break from competing, Paris Olympics 50m freestyle finalist is feeling better than ever — both physically and mentally: “It has been quite some time since my last long course competition, but I made the right decision and I feel so much better now. The comeback is going amazing so far. I enjoy swimming and racing again, which is the most important thing.”
Her recent performances confirm that she is firmly back on track. Racing at the European Short Course Championships and making the final provided valuable reassurance that her preparation is paying off: “Racing at European SC Championships few weeks ago gave me the best feedback and that I am heading in the right direction.”
Excitement for the SKINS Race Format
One of the highlights of the Zirk Swim Cup is its exciting SKINS race format in 50m freestyle final and Klančar is no stranger to the intensity and thrill it brings. She has previous experience in the format and is looking forward to embracing the challenge once again: “SKINS race format is fun!!! I have done it before at the U23 European Championships in Dublin two years ago, where I did a pretty good job. My expectations are just to enjoy, have fun and try to swim as fast as possible. I think that’s the best training you can do.” Rather than focusing on results alone, Klančar values the competitive atmosphere and the opportunity to push herself in a unique way.
A Key Step Toward Summer Goals
For Neža Klančar, this competition is more than just an early season meet — it plays an important role in her preparation for the summer’s main target: the European Championships. “This meet is just one more step closer to this summer’s goals, the European Championships. I think it’s amazing to be able to go and race there among many fast swimmers and have fun at the same time.”
With her positive mindset, strong recent performances, and love for racing fully restored, Neža Klančar is set to be one of the standout athletes at the Zirk Swim Cup. Fans can look forward to fast swims, exciting SKINS races, and a world-class performance from one of Slovenia’s top swimmer.
